The Isuzu D-Max pickup truck has been restyled.

The third generation of the Isuzu D-Max frame pickup truck was released in 2019.

Last year, about 340 thousand of these vehicles were sold worldwide, 180 thousand of them in Thailand, where the main plant for the production of these pickups is located.

Therefore, the premiere of the updated range took place there.

As part of the restyling, the car received new headlights (halogens in the base or LEDs in expensive versions), different bumpers and a redesigned radiator grille.

Because of this, the dimensions have increased slightly: the D-Max in the most popular version with a double-row cab has added 40 mm in length (up to 5305 mm), 10 mm in width (1880 mm) and 20 mm in height (1810 mm). The wheelbase is 3125 mm.

There are also some minor changes in the interior of the pickup truck. It now has a new dashboard with a seven-inch color screen in the center and boomerang dials on the sides.

Under the screen of the multimedia system (it can have a diagonal of 8 or 9 inches), depending on the configuration, two knobs have appeared for changing the volume and switching the radio wave (previously there were buttons there).

Isuzu also claims to have used improved materials in the seat upholstery and door panels.

In addition, the pickup’s equipment has been slightly improved. Vehicles with a manual transmission now have adaptive cruise control, and a new camera with a heated lens is installed on the nose, which is used by the automatic braking system.

During the update, engineers reconfigured the stabilization system and other electronics. A new off-road driving mode promises more efficient operation of the all-wheel drive system.

There are no changes in the technical part. As before, the Isuzu D-Max pickup truck offers a choice of two four-cylinder turbodiesels — 1.9 liters (150 hp, 350 Nm) and 3.0 liters (190 hp, 450 Nm).

There are also two gearboxes — a six-speed manual and an Aisin automatic. The chassis is a double-wishbone spring at the front and a solid axle on springs at the rear.

The rigidly connected all-wheel drive has also been preserved, as well as the standard rear differential lock with an electromagnetic actuator. But basic versions have only rear-wheel drive.

As before, the Isuzu D-Max is offered in three versions — with a single-row Regular Cab, a one-and-a-half-row Space Cab and a two-row Crew Cab.

Sales in Thailand will begin on October 12, with a starting price of $15,700. The most expensive all-wheel drive D-Max in the V-Cross version with a double-row cab is estimated at $34,200.
