Jeep Grand Cherokee patented: will the flagship SUV appear in our country?

The Jeep auto concern has filed a patent in Russia for the Grand Cherokee 2023. The fifth generation of this SUV was presented on the American market in 2021.

Now, sketches of the regular and elongated versions (with the prefix «L») of the flagship Jeep model have been included in the FIPS database (Federal Institute of Industrial Property).

Recall that the FIAT-Chrysler concern during the presentation of the 5th generation Grand Cherokee surprised the public with a six-seat extended modification of the jeep (before that, only five-seat variations of this model were produced).

But a few days later, the public was presented with a standard version of an SUV in a 5-seater version with the usual wheelbase length.

Grand Cherokee L and Grand Cherokee have almost the same appearance.

On the outside, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the same stern appearance as the long-wheelbase «L» version of the model.

At the front, the SUV draws attention to itself with narrow LED optics and a branded radiator grille, consisting of seven vertically arranged vertical blocks.

They have similar grilles, bumpers and headlights, an impressive horizontal hood and narrowed outlines of the lamps.

But the L-modification is distinguished by a more elongated stern: its length is as much as 5.2 meters, and the center distance is 3.09 meters.

The change of generations has led to a radical change in the interior of American SUVs.

The dashboard has been completely redesigned along with the center console.

It should also be noted the presence of two impressive multifunctional screens: «tidy» and multimedia systems.

The second supports the «distribution» of the 4G Internet, and also works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay services.

In addition, the upgraded American SUVs received an innovative Trailhawk variant and an adaptive air suspension.

Thanks to this innovation, the ground clearance of these representatives of the SUV segment has increased to 28.7 centimeters.

In addition, the cars were equipped with an anti-roll bar and survey cameras broadcasting what is happening in front of the cars, as well as under it.

Whether the flagship SUV will appear on the Russian market or whether the patent is just an attempt to protect copyright on the model is still unknown.
