The new seven-seat Mercedes EQT 2023: details about the novelty are revealed six months before its official debut.

Yesterday German automaker Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled its new T-Class commercial minivan based on the French Renault Kangoo.

During the event, the brand decided to share previously unknown details about its all-electric alternative, the Mercedes EQT 2023, which is expected to be unveiled later this year.

As you know, last year, the manufacturer from Stuttgart set a goal of releasing at least one all-electric car in each segment where the brand is present.

The new EQT will become the representative of a segment of family vans and it is necessary to notice that not the first and not the only one.

The fact is that in this segment there are already such electric cars as Mercedes EQV, eCitan, eVito and eSprinter.

This is made possible by the fact that Mercedes creates platforms for its new products so that they are able to support electric versions, and buyers can choose a «green» alternative to standard internal combustion engines.

The platform for the new T-Class has been designed so that it can support not only gasoline and diesel engines, but also all-electric variants, which is exactly what the new Mercedes EQT is.

The design of the new EQT is based on the previously unveiled Concept EQT, so it will combine all the advantages of electric cars, as well as the practicality and versatility of the standard fuel-powered T-Class.

In this regard, the appearance of the new EQT will be significantly different from the T-Class, as it will receive features typical of the Mercedes EQ series electric lineup.

Now it is stated that the total body length of the new seven-seat minivan will be about 4.9 meters.

Its charging port will be at the front, under the emblem of the brand.

The cabin will have a branded multimedia system MBUX with a large touchscreen.

It is also known that the range will include «short» versions with 5-seater interior. The novelty is scheduled to debut at the end of the year, and it will go on sale in 2023.
