2024 New BMW XM — Better than the Lamborghini Urus!?

BMW never ceases to amaze its fans by introducing more and more new models of electric cars.

It becomes clear that this brand has firmly taken up the creation of a separate line of models, purely electric.

One of the new additions will be the BMW XM crossover, which was recently revealed in teaser photos.

It cannot be said that the manufacturer has fully disclosed the data on the novelty, however, one can understand the general appearance and equipment.

As part of its 50th anniversary, BMW M has unveiled the new XM plug-in hybrid crossover. Initially, there were thoughts that it would be an all-electric version, but in practice it turned out to be a hybrid with the prefix M.

The basis for the new BMW XM was a hybrid platform. The base was a V8 gasoline engine with a volume of 4.4 liters, a power of 489 horses and 650 Nm of maximum torque.

The electric motor will be able to give out 196 horses. In tandem with the hybrid setup, the manufacturer installs an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission.

With such technical characteristics, the charged BMW XM crossover will be able to overcome the first hundred on the speedometer in 4.3 seconds.

The maximum speed will be 250 km / h (limited by software). In some trim levels, the maximum speed will be 270 km / h.

The battery capacity will be 25.7 kWh, which will allow the crossover to drive about 88 km only on electric traction.

If we talk in general about the new BMW XM crossover, then this is a full-size charged SUV.

The body length is 5.1 meters and the wheelbase is 3.1 meters, which is close to the BMW X7.

The exterior design is mostly accented with golden elements.

In this style, rims, glass edges, radiator grille trim, as well as other elements are decorated.

Now about the interior of the new BMW XM. The salon is designed for 5 seats with a landing formula 2 + 3. The seats are multifunctional and upholstered in high quality leather.

LED lighting is installed around the perimeter of the interior. In total, the choice of the buyer will be offered four design options.

The interior itself is divided into two parts by a massive central tunnel, but only for the first row of seats.

Despite the fact that at the premiere of the BMW XM they minimally talked about the interior, from the presented photos you can understand that the designers kept it in a modern style.

The central part of the panel was occupied by a large screen, which in turn is divided into a digital instrument panel and a multimedia system display.

A little lower along the central tunnel, a pair of rectangular air ducts and a touch panel for quick access to vehicle systems are located.

The central tunnel of the BMW XM itself is not particularly surprising, although it was assumed that there would be a large number of buttons.

By standard, there is a transmission lever, a washer for controlling travel modes and a central display, wireless charging, and a couple of other buttons.

The whole set is completed by a massive armrest, the upper part of which is divided into two separate parts.

If we talk in general about the new BMW XM crossover, then it looks more like a concept than a production model.

In particular, the sharp lines of the body, a large number of additional elements “speak” about this. No less attention is drawn to the front of the crossover.

The optics are made in the latest BMW style, rough lines of the radiator grille and horizontal lines instead of a mesh insert.

It remains to wait for the official start of sales of the new BMW XM to fully what the new crossover will be capable of.
