Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited 2022.

The new generation of Jeep Grand Cherokee WL in the extended version L At the beginning of January twenty-first Americans presented Jeep Grand Cherokee of the new (fifth) generation in the body WL, and immediately in the three-row design with the letter «L» in the name.

Note that we are talking about the first lengthened modification in the history of the model.

From the outside, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 remains recognizable, although it has different bumpers, as well as narrower LED headlights and lights.

Interestingly, the hood and fifth door of the SUV are now made of aluminum, and the wheels can be fitted with rims up to 21″ (previously the maximum was 20″).

The interior of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee WL is noticeably more modern. He has a 10.3-inch screen of the virtual dashboard and a multimedia system Uconnect 5, the display of which can be 8.4 or 10.1 inches (depending on the configuration).

Note that in the arsenal of entertainment complex there is wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay interfaces, as well as a Wi-Fi access point.

In addition, the car now boasts a projection screen and rotating puck, installed instead of the standard gearstick.

But the climate control unit remains analog — with physical buttons and a couple of «knobs».

Note that the second row of the extended Grand Cherokee L can be equipped with either a three-seat couch or separate «captain’s» chairs.

In other words, the SUV can be ordered with seven or six seats.

In any case, there are 12 USB-A and USB-C connectors, which are «scattered» all over the interior. Jeep Grand Cherokee L 2022 is designed on a new platform «Giorgio», on which are built Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio.

This «bogie» is characterized by increased use of aluminum and high-strength steels, as well as new electronics and modern safety systems.

Despite the use of the new «bogie», in technical terms, the new Grand Cherokee 2021 is almost unchanged.

By default, the SUV still gets a 3.6-liter V6 with 294 hp. (348 Nm), and as an alternative, a more powerful 5.7-liter V8 with 362 hp (529 Nm) is offered.

Both engines work in tandem with an eight-speed automatic. In the U.S. market, the car can be ordered in both rear and all-wheel drive, and for all-wheel drive versions three different types of transmissions are offered at once.

However, all of them are familiar from the predecessor. The base all-wheel drive models are equipped with Quadratrac I system with a muff in drive of front wheels.

More expensive versions are provided with Quadratrac II transmission augmented with demultiplier, and top version Quadra-Drive II also has blocking of rear differential.

In addition, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L can be ordered with an optional Quadra-Lift air suspension.

In the standard position it has 216 mm ground clearance (the predecessor had 211 mm). On off-road terrain, ground clearance can be increased up to 277 mm, and on a parking lot — reduced to 170 millimeters.

In the highest body position the angle of approach is 30.1 degrees, that is 4.4 degrees more than on the previous generation model.

Also the depth of ford is increased up to 610 millimeters (+100).

But because of the increased wheelbase, the ramp angle and the angle of departure are reduced.

So far, the model is available in four versions: Limited, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve, and the last one is the top model.

It is characterized by decor of real wood veneer and expensive leather trim.

Plus, this car has ventilated seats of the second row and multicontour front seats with ventilation and massage (however, the latter are also available on Overland).

Of other features of equipment it is worth noting the audio system McIntosh with 19 speakers and the camera all-around vision, where the front has a night vision function.

There is also adaptive cruise control Active Driving Assistant with lane keeping function, which by the end of 2021 will allow the driver to remove his hands from the steering wheel while driving on the highway.

Production of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L will be set up at the newly launched Mack Avenue plant in Detroit.

Start of sales of the model in the U.S. market came in the second quarter of the twenty-first year, while production of cars with WK2 body will continue — they are produced at Jefferson North Assembly in Detroit.

The fourth and fifth generation models will be sold in parallel until at least 2022, after which the predecessor will be retired.

Over time, the new WL range will include a standard five-seat version, as well as modifications SRT, Trailhawk and Trackhawk.

Appearance of the model in Russia is scheduled for autumn of the twenty-second, prices are not announced yet.
