KIA K3 2024.

KIA K3 sedan presented in Mexico: this is the successor to the Rio model.
On August 9, twenty-third, the premiere of the KIA K3 sedan took place in Mexico, which is the successor to the global Rio model (sold in China as K2).

The new four-door was noticeably larger than the old one. On the side, it draws attention to itself with a sloping roofline and a short “tail” of the trunk.

So far, the Koreans have presented to the public only the top version of the GT-Line model, which is characterized by a more aggressive bumper design and 17-inch wheels. Basic versions will be somewhat simpler.

The interior of such a sedan has almost the same design as the KIA EV6 electric car.

In particular, there is a peakless panel, which hosts both a virtual tidy and a multimedia system display.

The first consists of a 4.2-inch color screen and scales drawn on the sides of it. In turn, the multimedia touchscreen is here at 10.25″.

At the same time, the complex itself boasts wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay interfaces.

From the equipment in the base there is an ESP and six airbags. Well, the top version of the GT-Line has dual-zone climate control, ventilation deflectors on the second row and interior contour lighting (64 colors to choose from).

KIA K3 2024 reaches a length of 4545 mm. This is immediately 160 mm more than the current global Rio, and also 125 mm more than the «Russian» sedan, previously produced in St. Petersburg.

The wheelbase of the model is 2,670 mm (+ 90). Width and height now reach 1,765 mm (+ 40) and 1,475 mm (+ 15). The trunk volume according to the data sheet is 544 liters, solid by the standards of the class.

The new K3 is built on a simple platform with a semi-independent rear suspension.

In the base, he still relies on a 1.4-liter engine, although only export cars will be equipped with it.

But for Mexico, where the cars of the family will be produced, the base engine is a 1.6-liter aspirated engine, well known from its predecessor, which can be combined with both a six-speed manual and an automatic.

In turn, the presented K3 GT-Line boasts a 2.0-liter engine with 152 hp.

It works in conjunction with a six-speed automatic, which is controlled from the paddles on the steering wheel.

Serial production of the model will start in September twenty-third. First, a sedan will be installed on the conveyor, and then a hatchback will appear in the family.

In addition to Mexico, these four- and five-doors will be presented in other markets, but which ones have not yet been specified. The price of the cars remains unknown.
