Lamborghini Urus 2020: stylish sports utility vehicle.

In Laborgini, they said several times that they would like to release their sports SUV. And now the new Lamborghini Urus 2020 model year was officially presented. The car manufacturer showed the conceptual model seven years ago, however, the company was able to launch it in a series only now. This version of the crossover has the most advanced features. It is worth a closer look at it.


The new crossover body looks like the famous sports cars from this automaker. This is also reminiscent of the beveled wheel arches and the pointy front of the car. However, the new car has its own nuances. After all, this is the first front-wheel drive car Lamborghini, and even the «four-door».

The new model has a very expressive front end. On the sides of it is a narrow, as in sports car, LED optics. Each headlamp has five blocks of LEDs and Y-like LED DRLs that simultaneously function as dynamic turn signals. Head optics made with the latest technology. There is adaptive adjustment to environmental conditions and control of the brightness and range of the light beam.

Between the headlights of the Lamborghini Urus 2020 optics is the main part of the front bumper, and in the middle is a modest logo of the company. The hood lines resemble those of sports cars from this automaker. The front bumper itself was restyled for this model. The radiator grill is made in the form of several diamond-shaped parts. In the central part there are six large cells, and in the center there are radar and front-view cameras. On the sides of the bumper are made Y-shaped inserts that improve the aerodynamicity of the car.

On the side, the Urus has peculiar contours that are completely different from those of Lamborghini sports cars. From the wheel arches in front to the rear lights there is a special way a curved line dividing the top and bottom of the car. In addition, it improves the aerodynamics of the new car, which in general style resembles the new BMW X6.

The back of the car does not look like other modern models. The engine of this car is located under the hood, which is just unusual for Lamborghini. The most attention behind is attracted by Y-shaped brake lights built on LEDs. Half of the optics in the spirit of modernity is located on the tailgate. A smaller part of it is on the hind wings. At the top of the rear door there is a narrow spoiler with a wide LED brake light repeater.

On the tailgate there are enough relief ledges that improve aerodynamics and give originality to an already quite rare car. The lower part of the rear bumper is made of black plastic with simulated corrugated protection in the middle and narrow stripes of foglights on the sides. Parallel to them, at the very bottom of the bumper, there are twin muffler pipes, and in the center of it you can see an insert made of papillary iron.

The interior of the new car is very different from that of other cars of this company. Designers clearly tried, making it unique in their own way. To see this, just look at the front panel, where a good half of the controls are touch-sensitive, and the rest are similar to those that are on airplanes. The panel has deliberately coarse contours, but it is precisely this form that suits this model. It houses six-sided airflow deflectors with mesh inserts. Two are located at the top of the center console, two more at the edges of the front panel.

Under the ducts on the console is a multimedia screen with many options and touch controls. Below it is a series of service keys with chrome inserts. Below is a second touchscreen display designed to control the four-zone climate system. A lot of virtual buttons are displayed on it. If necessary, it serves as a navigator or tablet with Internet access.

The center console is edged with thick metal inserts and has a carbon coating. Below, it goes into a raised main tunnel, which begins with a gear shift knob similar to an aircraft engine control lever. Along the edges of it are made the same leverage control modes of the transmission. Closer to the driver is a panel with service buttons, and closer to the passenger are two combined hexagonal cup holders. Between the front seats is a wide double armrest, under which there is a large glove box with a refrigerator.

The instrument panel is perfectly visible behind a three-spoke steering wheel, on which service keys are located. It is slightly flattened from below and has a leather braid.

On the electronic dashboard, a central place is reserved for the tachometer, on the sides of which there are auxiliary screens of various shapes, visualizing the incoming information.

All seats have high-quality leather upholstery and many service options: from heating and ventilation to massage certain areas on the body of the driver and passengers.

The front seats are sporty with excellent lateral support and adjustable back recess. The optional equipment of the rear seats depends on the configuration of the car.

Three passengers will go there perfectly, but the increased comfort is designed for two. In the latter case, they have a separate central console with buttons for controlling various functions.

At the same time, there is a hatch for access to the trunk in the front part of the back of the rear seat, the volume of which in the 5-seater version is 616 liters, and for the 4-seater version — 574 liters.

Urus comes with one version of an 8-cylinder gasoline engine. It has a capacity of 4 liters, two turbines and develops 650 hp. power and 850 Nm of torque.

As shown by a test drive, fuel consumption is 12.7 liters. Acceleration to the first hundred occurs in 3.6 s, and to the second — in 12.8 s.

Complete with engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive. The maximum speed for this car is 305 km / h.
