New sports car Porsche 911 2025. Large-scale changes are expected: it will receive unexpected engines.

The preliminary characteristics of the engines of the new Porsche 911 have been declassified.

The German company is already working on the new 2025 Porsche 911.

According to insiders, the car is expected to undergo quite serious changes.

Moreover, most of them will be on the technical part. For example, the German model will still receive a hybrid installation.

It will be complemented by an energy recovery system, implemented using the same technology that is used in F1 cars. According to rumors, the built-in electric motor will add 80-90 hp.

As standard, the German new product will be equipped with a 3-liter turbocharged boxer engine.

More expensive versions will have a 3.6-liter “atmospheric” unit, the maximum output of which may be reduced. The same engine, but with a turbine, will be placed in “charged” modifications of the sports car.

Additionally, a naturally aspirated version of the 3.6-liter engine will replace the 4.0-liter V6 in the GT3 version.

The German company noted that they are not yet planning to deprive this sports car of gasoline engines.

Porsche dealers have a busy 12 months ahead with both the Taycan and 911 getting facelifts.

We caught both of these cars this week without any camouflage, meaning they should both be on the market any week.

Porsche 911 is waiting for the transition to new engines with and without supercharging. The American publication Car & Driver found out details about the updated line of “911s” with the index 992.2.

According to unofficial data, global reengineering is planned: the Turbo and Turbo S versions will have a 3.6-liter turbo engine (instead of the current 3.75-liter), the GTS version will return from a 3.0-liter turbo engine to a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated engine ; it will also appear on the GT3 in the future.

Hybrids will still appear in the updated Porsche 911 family, and we are talking about a self-charging version with a Varta battery with a capacity of about two kilowatt-hours.

Porsche allegedly developed the electrical system jointly with Rimac, and the kinetic energy recovery system is implemented according to the same scheme as in Formula 1.

It is claimed that the T-HEV module weighs no more than 25 kilograms, and the electric motor will be able to add 80-90 horsepower to the gasoline “six”.

Initially, the hybrid Porsche 911 will occupy a niche between the GTS and Turbo, but in the future a similar gasoline-electric system will appear on the most hardcore variant — the GT2 RS.

An electric all-wheel drive system with separate electric motors at the front is also planned for it.

The base 911 Carrera family will retain the six-cylinder 3.0-liter flat-turbo engine, but its output will increase slightly.

But the GTS will be switched to a new generation naturally aspirated unit with a volume of 3.6 liters, but will lose power.

A unit of the same volume, but with a turbocharger, will appear under the hood of the Turbo and Turbo S. And in the next generation, a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated engine will replace the well-deserved 4.0-liter six of the GT3/GT3 RS.

There is no confirmation of insider information, but the restyling of the Porsche 911 is just around the corner, so there is certainly a development program for the legendary model in Stuttgart.

Time will tell whether the rumors will be confirmed. However, Porsche representatives have repeatedly stated that the 911 will be the last to part with the internal combustion engine, so the development of a new family of gasoline engines looks logical.
