Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2024 fifth generation J250: officially presented.

The world premiere of the new (fifth) generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2024 in the J250 body took place.

The debut was highly anticipated, because the last Prado (J150) came out 14 years ago.

So, the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J250 (by the way, in many markets the SUV is called without the Prado prefix, for example, in the USA) is built on the GA-F platform (like the Land Cruiser 300).

The frame and permanent all-wheel drive with a center self-locking differential and low gear are retained.

The exterior design of the Prado 2024 is made in the style of the new Lexus GX, with the maximum number of sharp corners and straight surfaces.

Retro motifs are also clearly noticeable in the exterior, for example, the front end is inspired by the classic Land Cruiser 60 of the 80s.

By the way, for the new generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2024, two versions of the front design have been prepared: the first with nostalgic round headlights, the second with rectangular optics.

The dimensions of the new Prado have increased significantly:

Apparently due to the unification of the platform: the wheelbase of the new Prado is the same as that of the older Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX.

The fifth door (trunk) now opens not swinging, but in the classic upward direction (with electric drive), but the ability to open the glass separately remains.

The suspension of the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2024 is only spring (while adaptive shock absorbers can be ordered for the Lexus GX). The layout is the same: the rear is a continuous axle, and the front is an independent double wishbone.

Active stabilizers KDSS (kinetic suspension stabilization system, or active stabilizer system) are no longer offered for the Prado; instead, an unlockable front anti-roll bar is offered (mainly to be used only on off-road).

The departure angle is 22 degrees, the approach angle is 30 or 31 degrees (depending on the version). Ground clearance – 220 mm. Frame rigidity increased by 50%.

The interior of the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J250 2024 has two or three rows of seats (five or seven seats).

Depending on the market, the Prado is offered in the following modifications:

2.7 naturally aspirated petrol engine (163 hp and 246 Hm) paired with a six-speed automatic transmission (mainly only for the Japanese market)

Sales of the new Toyota LC Prado will begin in the first half of 2024. Prices, for example, in the USA – from $55,000. The J250 will not be officially sold in Russia.
