Rolls-Royce says goodbye to the Dawn convertible: the last batch has been released.

It is assumed that this model of the luxury British brand, owned by BMW, will not have a direct heir.

Rolls-Royce launched its Dawn convertible in 2015, replacing the Phantom Drophead two-door open-top model.

The peak year for Rassvet was the very first year of sales — in 2016, dealers sold 258 convertibles in Europe.

Then the indicators gradually decreased, so that closer to the “trip of a career”, in 2021, the result in the old world was only 58 units.

Now the company has announced that the production of the Rolls-Royce Dawn at the plant in Goodwood (West Sussex, UK) has been discontinued.

The luxury manufacturer did not develop some kind of «farewell» limited edition; Rolls-Royce only talked about the release of the final batch of convertibles.

How many copies were included in it is not specified, however, it is known that all of them sold out on pre-orders in the spring of 2022.

Rolls-Royce Dawn is equipped with a 571-horsepower V12 6.6-liter turbo engine, its maximum torque is 820 Nm.

Such a convertible takes 5.0 seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds”. It is worth recalling that earlier the company stopped producing the closest “relative” – the Wraith coupe.

These models will not have a direct successor. It is known that the Wraith and Dawn will be replaced by a new all-electric Rolls-Royce Specter coupe (the open-top version has not yet been discussed).

The serial version of the train was declassified in October last year. As Kolesa.ru reported earlier, the novelty will be sent to the series in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Specter coupe is 5453 mm long, 2080 mm wide, and 1559 mm high; its wheelbase is 3210 mm.

This electric car is based on the aluminum Architecture of Luxury platform (it debuted on the flagship Phantom sedan in 2017).

The traction battery weighing 700 kg is integrated into the floor, while the curb weight of the “two-door” is 2975 kg.

Details about the Rolls-Royce Specter’s power plant are not yet available, but they will appear closer to the start of production of the model.

So far, the company has declassified the total peak output of the system — 585 hp, and the maximum torque is 900 Nm.

To accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, the electric coupe can accelerate in 4.5 seconds.

There is no data on the capacity of the traction battery yet, according to preliminary data, it is 120 kWh, and the range on a single charge is 520 km (when calculated according to the WLTP cycle).

Officially, Rolls-Royce has not yet announced the cost of the Specter electric coupe, but dealers are already accepting applications for a future novelty.

As previously reported, the estimated starting price tag of the luxury «two-door» will be 275 thousand pounds.
