The most classic SUV Defender has not disappeared anywhere. Land Rover Classic representatives won’t let that happen.

They decided to revive the spirit of the classic British SUV with a special edition dedicated to its 75th anniversary.

The novelty is called Land Rover Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition.

It’s more than hard to imagine that such special models as the most original Land Rover Defender eventually disappeared, especially when its modern interpretation does not captivate car enthusiasts as it was originally intended.

The iconic SUV of the British brand is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its birth.

The exclusive version revives the spirit of one of the best off-road vehicles and the industry, whose name refers to one of the Scottish islands, where Land Rover co-founder Spencer Wilks tested a 1965 prototype.

The SUV is available in two model variants, the Defender 90 and 110. Both are offered as a pickup truck finished in a special color like Heritage Gray with a contrasting off-white painted roof called Limestone.

The wheels are classic, but this time in high-strength steel painted in the color of the roof, while the fender flares and grille support the body trim.

Only the metal bumpers are filled with black.

The model is distinguished by the iconic round groups of front and rear lights. The interior is upholstered in leather and special fabric on the seats.

The luggage floor covering is very different from the classic model: it is made of wood.

The firm has managed to integrate a small screen into the boxy center console, a single detail among the many analog controls.

This Land Rover Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition can be registered as it is technically based on a model produced between 2012 and 2016.

The 2024 Land Rover Defender lineup will debut with a new petrol engine and two more new off-road option packages.

Under the hood is a powerful 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine with a maximum output of 405 hp. with all-wheel drive and 8 automatic transmissions.

Only 30 copies will appear on sale: 17 with a short body and 13 with a long one.

Crazy prices were announced for new items: 262,000 euros or 22.9 million rubles for the Defender 90 and 279,000 euros or 24.4 million rubles for the Defender 110.
