Cupra Raval: official name and latest photos of the new crossover.

The “green” new product of the Spanish brand will have a pair of “twins” released under the Volkswagen and Skoda brands. The model will be sent into production in 2025.

Cupra separated from the parent company Seat at the beginning of 2018; before that, the “charged” versions of Seat received a corresponding increase in the name.

The brand’s lineup currently includes several cars; for example, the Tavascan serial crossover debuted at the end of last month. And in the future, the line will be complemented by another new product, also in the SUV segment.

The company has announced the name of the future serial SUV – Cupra Raval. It is associated with the name of one of the quarters of Barcelona.

Let us remind you that the crossover will be created based on a sports show car called UrbanRebel, which was presented at the Munich Motor Show in the fall of 2021.

A prototype close to serial production with the same name appeared in the summer of 2022.

Cupra Raval will take the place of the entry-level electric car in the brand hierarchy.

It is known that it will have a pair of “twins”, released under the Volkswagen and Skoda brands (all of the listed brands, including the parent Seat, are part of the VW concern).

The trio of new products will replace the electric “crumbs” Volkswagen E-Up, Skoda Citigo-e iV and Seat Mii Electric.

It was previously reported that the price of entry-level electric cars from Volkswagen and Skoda will range from 20 to 25 thousand euros.

At the same time, Cupra emphasized that the Spanish sports brand is positioned as more premium, so we should expect an increase in the price tag.

It is expected that the price of the Raval will start at approximately 28.7 thousand euros.

It is known that the new Cupra will be based on Volkswagen’s MEB+ modular platform.

Let’s remember that the UrbanRebel prototype has a distance between the axles of 2600 mm, this figure is approximately halfway between the ID.3 and e-Up wheelbases.

It is expected that such a small electric crossover with a five-seater interior will attract residents of European cities with their narrow streets and well-established infrastructure for “green” transport.

There is no official information about the technology of the serial Cupra Raval yet. The UrbanRebel prototype was equipped with a single electric motor producing 226 hp.

There is no information about the capacity of the traction battery; the maximum range on one charge for the show car is 440 km. It takes 6.9 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h.

Production of the serial Cupra Raval SUV, as well as its closest “relatives”, will be established at the facilities of the enterprise, which is located in Martorell (Spain).

The release of the new product will start in 2025, and it is possible that it will go on sale on the European market in 2026.
