The new 2024 Acura Integra Type S has been unveiled and its performance is impressive.

The car has a high level of safety and excellent maneuverability, which was achieved with appropriate settings.

Thus, the model’s arsenal includes four-piston Brembo brakes, powerful shock absorbers and adaptive suspension.

In addition, the track width was increased. Some adjustments were made to the exhaust system, which ensured the appropriate engine sound.

The car is available in front-wheel drive. The transmission uses a six-speed manual gearbox.

The engine provides power within 320 horsepower.

In combination with such characteristics, a sporty design is offered for the Acura Integra Type S, which is expressed in the corresponding design of key exterior elements.

The multi-spoke 19-inch wheels blend in stylishly with the rest of the details. The huge diffuser and wide air intakes look powerful and brutal.

Carbon fiber was used to trim some parts, which reduced the weight of the car. The equipment includes multimedia, a wireless interface, an advanced security package, etc.

Honda is diligently cultivating a sporty image for its premium Acura division — and is adding a third powerful and driver-oriented model with the Type S prefix to the American range.

The Acura TLX Type S sedan and Acura MDX Type S crossover are accompanied by the compact Acura Integra Type S liftback.

But if the older “esques” stand apart from other Honda models (they have their own V6 turbo engine), then the younger five-door was created with little effort.

In fact, we have an Acura Integra in front of us, in which the technical stuffing of the new Honda Civic Type R hot hatch was packed, without any special modifications.

The two-liter turbo engine K20C is only symbolically boosted from 319 hp. (in American specification) up to 324 hp, although the torque remained unchanged (420 Nm).

However, in other countries this engine in the Civic is tuned to 329 hp.

It’s surprising that even the Acura’s transmission is the same: it’s a non-alternative six-speed manual.

Yes, in America they love such powerful cars with a manual transmission, but the lack of an optional “automatic” for an Acura car still looks strange.

The other equipment of the Integra and Civic is also maximally unified.

Front-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential, adaptive shock absorbers, McPherson front suspension with separate steering knuckles, rear multi-link, Brembo front brakes with four-piston mechanisms — all this was transferred from Honda.

Even the widened track of the two powerful five-doors is the same: 1626 mm at the front and 1613 mm at the rear. And Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires of size 265/30 R19 are installed on both cars.

The Type S version differs from the basic Integra in its redesigned front part of the body: there are original widened fenders, an aluminum hood with a large air duct opening and a new bumper with enlarged air intakes.

But the rear fenders remained standard, but they were supplemented with plastic wheel arch extensions.

The overall width has increased by 70 mm (up to 1900 mm). At the rear there is an original bumper with a large diffuser, but the three-barrel exhaust system is again almost like that of the Civic Type R.

Acura differs from its sister Honda in additional equipment.

There is a projection screen, an electric driver’s seat, combined seat upholstery and an advanced ELS Studio 3D audio system with sixteen speakers.

Therefore, the Integra Type S turned out to be 14 kg heavier than the similar Civic: 1460 kg in running order. At the same time, the back row of both five-doors is designed for only two riders.

Alas, Acura does not provide dynamic performance indicators for its liftback.

In America, these parameters have not been published even for the Civic, but you can take the car’s characteristics for Europe as a guide: acceleration to “hundreds” in 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 275 km/h.

The five-door Integra Type S will be produced in America, sales on the local market will begin in June.

The price has not yet been announced, but the Acura should be slightly more expensive than the similar Honda, which starts at $43,000 in the United States.
