KIA EV5 2024.

The 2024 KIA EV5 electric compact crossover is in production form.

The electric Kia EV5 received a conceptual appearance, one electric motor and a battery from BYD.

The production-ready design and specifications of the new Kia EV5 electric crossover have been declassified earlier than expected, thanks to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The compact model, which will officially debut in the coming weeks, will be built in China with plans to export to global markets.

The appearance of the novelty is almost indistinguishable from the concept, with the exception of minor changes. Wheels come in two sizes: 18 and 19 inches in diameter.

They share the same design as the 21-inch wheels featured in the concept.

Changes include traditional side mirrors, wraparound door handles, a larger charging port, and slightly redesigned LED headlights.

These adjustments accompany a strikingly similar body design.

Although the model’s interior has yet to be shown, the model is expected to take inspiration from the larger EV9 both aesthetically and technologically.

The dimensions of the EV5 are as follows: length 4615 mm, width 1875 mm and height 1715 mm.

They are all based on a 2750 mm wheelbase. These measurements position the EV5 as the electric equivalent of the Kia Sportage in the manufacturer’s lineup.

The EV5 is built on the E-GMP architecture, including McPherson front struts and a multi-link rear suspension.

According to the specifications provided, the crossover will be equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor manufactured by Vitesco Automotive Electronics.

This engine develops 215 hp. and 310 Nm, which is transmitted exclusively to the front wheels.

Top speed is electronically limited to 185 km/h.

Energy will be stored in the BYD Blade’s lithium iron phosphate battery, though there’s no word yet on exact range.

The new EV5 will be built in China by a joint venture between Kia and Yueda.

Although its manufacturing base is in China, the EV5 is not just for the local market.

It is designed as a global electric vehicle and is likely to appear in North America as well.

According to the latest information, the official presentation of the Kia EV5 is scheduled for August 25 at the Chengdu Motor Show.
