New addition to the “crowned” family: the Toyota Crown Signia 2025 crossover debuted.

The new model of the Japanese brand is intended for the North American market; this SUV will reach dealers in the summer of 2024.

Since the end of last month, Toyota has been teasing fans of the brand with teasers of the new product, and now the mid-size crossover of the “crowned” family has been officially presented.

In the North American market, the model was called Crown Signia, while in Japan this two-row SUV has a different name — Crown Estate.

Note that the SUV will join the Crown sedan, which debuted in mid-summer 2022 and reached dealers in the United States in the fall of the same year.

By the way, some local media believe that the new Toyota Crown Signia crossover will take the place of the Venza in the American market (it is assumed that the current model year will be its last).

The SUV of the Japanese brand received an appearance in the corporate style of the Crown family; in general, the version with the addition of Signia is in many ways similar to the Estate prototype shown last year.

The crossover received a radiator grille in body color, made in the form of a mesh, two-story head optics, where in the upper part there are narrow strips of running lights, and on the sides of the “grill” there are the main headlight units.

A wide air intake with a pattern of horizontal black stripes is integrated into the lower part of the front bumper.

The car received a body kit made of glossy black plastic around the perimeter of the body, traditional exterior mirrors and door handles, and a chrome edging along the side glazing line along the lower edge.

The stern was equipped with a single strip of lights that connect across the entire width of the tailgate.

At the bottom of the rear bumper there are horizontal stripes of reflectors, and the exhaust pipe is hidden under the bumper.

There is a large spoiler on top, visually similar to an extension of the roof, and a brake light is integrated into it.

The initial version received 19-inch wheels, the top version had 21-inch wheels.

The company did not talk about the dimensions of the mid-size crossover for the North American market, but we can assume that its dimensions will be the same as those of the “home” version: length is 4930 mm, width – 1880 mm, height – 1620 mm, and the distance between the axles – 2850 mm.

Note that this SUV is comparable to a Toyota Highlander with “regular registration”, its length is 4950 mm, and the wheelbase is the same.

The crossover’s two-row interior is designed for five passengers. There are two screens on the front panel, each with a diagonal of 12.3 inches.

One acts as a virtual instrument panel, the second as a touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The standard equipment includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the complex includes, among other things, the functions of warning about a collision with a pedestrian, about departure from a lane, as well as cruise control with dynamic radar in the full speed range, automatic switching of high beams to low beams, road sign recognition.

Toyota Crown Signia is based on the TNGA-K platform; the model received only one “filling” option.

We are talking about an HEV installation, which is based on a 2.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine, which works in tandem with a pair of electric motors and an electromechanical variator eCVT.

The total output of this system is 246 hp, the model received an electronic all-wheel drive system. The new SUV has three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport.

Toyota Crown Signia will be available in the US in two trim levels, the new product will reach local dealers next summer. Pricing information will appear later.

Obviously, the new product will be more expensive than the family sedan: for a four-door Crown in the States they are now asking at least $40,050.
