BYD Yuan Up 2024.

The BYD Yuan Up crossover appeared in all its glory: premium gloss at an affordable price.

Chinese market leader BYD will soon launch a small electric crossover, the Yuan Up, which has the potential to become a hit.

The Chinese company BYD continues to increase its dominance in the home market: the latest electric crossover Yuan Up on the modular e-platform 3.0 platform has already arrived at local dealers, its sales will begin in March, and the start of accepting pre-orders will probably be given in the coming days.

It is expected that the basic version of BYD Yuan Up will cost less than 100,000 yuan (1.26 million rubles at current exchange rates).

Overall length of BYD Yuan Up is 4310 mm, width is 1830 mm, height is 1675 mm, wheelbase is 2620 mm.

The front suspension of the new crossover is McPherson type, the rear suspension is semi-independent with a transverse torsion beam.

The only electric motor with a power of 95 or 177 hp. located on the front axle and rotates the front wheels.

The battery capacity is 32 or 45.1 kWh, the range on one charge is 301 and 401 km according to the CLTC cycle, respectively.

On the outside, the BYD Yuan Up with individual design elements (for example, the design of the rear pillars) resembles the much more expensive smart #1, which costs in China from 179,000 yuan (2.56 million rubles).

The interior also has signs of a premium model: a crystal transmission mode selector, metallic keys and knobs, a panoramic glass roof, contrasting two-tone upholstery and a projection screen on the windshield.

The main instrument screen of the Yuan Up is 8.8-inch, the multimedia screen is 12.8-inch.

The central air vents are positioned low and blow into the navel, and beneath them is an angled tray with wireless smartphone charging.

In the second row of the crossover there is a full-fledged three-seater sofa with a central headrest (many Chinese manufacturers still save on it).

When folding the backrests of the rear sofa, an extended, flat luggage area is formed.

With a good balance of price and features, the Yuan Up could become one of the most popular new electric vehicles in China, which is why local media is paying a lot of attention to it.

A new SUV will probably appear in Europe too — let us remind you that BYD has grandiose plans for this region: by 2030, BYD wants to become the largest seller of electric vehicles in Europe; in December, construction began on its own plant for the production of passenger cars in the Hungarian city of Szeged.
