Genesis GV80 2024: along with restyling, the coupe-shaped crossover GV80 Coupe debuted.

The updated Genesis GV80 crossover for the 2024 model year was presented, and along with the restyling, a coupe-like modification of the GV80 Coupe debuted.

The Genesis GV80 is one of the company’s best-selling models and it is logical that by expanding the range, sales can be increased even more.

If the standard GV80 competes with the BMW X5, then the coupe version will compete with the BMW X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, expanding the audience even further.

Speaking of the standard crossover, due to restyling, its radiator grille and front bumper have changed slightly.

The shape of the optics remains the same, but the lighting technology itself is now MLA (Micro Lens Array) matrix. The exterior also features new wheel designs and added body colors.

Inside, the 2024 Genesis GV80 features a completely new front panel with a large (27-inch) rectangular display without a visor, which has no visible separation between the instrument panel and the media system.

A new three-spoke steering wheel has also been installed (instead of a two-spoke one), and the tunnel and center console have also been “rearranged”.

The engine range has been revised: the 3.0 turbodiesel (278 hp) has been excluded. In turn, the petrol turbo units – 2.5 (304 hp) and 3.5 V6 (380 hp) – have been retained.

By the way, these are modifications for the native Korean market; for export countries, the diesel engine may remain in service.

Speaking of the coupe-like Genesis GV80 Coupe 2024, its length has been increased by 25 mm (up to 4965 mm), and its height has been reduced by 5 mm.

Apart from the sloping roof, the differences from the standard version are minimal – it’s just a “duck tail” on the fifth door.

Inside, the coupe has a sportier steering wheel (beveled at the bottom) and abundant carbon fiber trim. The engine range is identical to the standard version.

Simultaneously with the update of its mid-size GV80, the company introduced a coupe-shaped version of this crossover.

It automatically received all the changes, so as a result, the GV80 Coupe differs from the restyled version of the Korean SUV only in the sloping roof line and rear optics.

Both engines were switched to the coupe, and as a bonus she also got a more productive version of the most powerful engine.

Exterior design

The updated 2024 Genesis GV80 has received relatively few new features.

In the case of the exterior, only the front bumper was replaced, the filling of the radiator grille changed, and the wheel rims received a different design (20- and 21-inch options are still available).

At the same time, the palette of body paint colors has become richer: there are now thirteen available options, and among them there is the Bering Blue shade, which is original and not presented on any other model of the brand.

The Koreans decided to leave the rear bumper with double pipes and the shaped spoiler above the trunk lid glass unchanged.

There are more improvements inside the crossover: first of all, a large 27-inch screen has settled on the front panel, housing both the “tidy” and the interface of the multimedia head unit.

It is proposed to control the microclimate through a separate touch panel.

The interior also began to look richer due to the “crystal” design of the transmission selector and infotainment system knobs.

To this they decided to add more finishing options, bringing the total number to five. At the same time, in combination with genuine leather, a wide variety of decor can be used, including natural wood and aluminum.
